Early Childhood Education Professional Childcare Temporary Staffing

Support on Standby Program & Mobile App

Support on Standby (SOS) Program is a Colorado state-licensed substitute placement agency that uses a mobile app to instantly match qualified substitute teachers, directors, and food service staff with licensed child care centers and homes.  This unique membership program provides exclusive access to our Guest Teacher Registry, articles, free training, and discounted workforce support services.

SOS Guest Teacher Program Mission

It SOS’s mission to provide a System of Support that ensures a safe, educational, and positive substitute experience for both the Guest Teachers and licensed providers. SOS teachers focus on making transitions as smooth as possible as young children typically do not like change, especially when it’s their favorite teacher who’s gone! Not only do we want children and families to feel confident separating from their children, but we hope that by the end of the day, the children will leave wanting more!

From drop-off to pick-up, and the child-centered play in-between, these Guest Teachers have all the tools to make the day special.

The SOS program provides a space for those who need or want a flexible schedule that fits their life.  It is the primary goal of the SOS program to reach into all communities where there is a need.
We develop teachers into expert substitutes who thrive in varied educational environments and feel a sense of pride in the important role they play in keeping all ECE programs running efficiently.

Qualified, Prepared, and Friendly!  All SOS Guest Teachers have been screened, verified, and receive extensive training before being placed on a job assignment.  SOS Teachers are equipped with 3 simple and effective classroom management kits that support teachers in new environments.  These adaptable kits were developed by The Wheelhouse Collaborative specifically for substitute teachers working with children infant through school-age.

  1. Professional Kit – support resources and tools to help with transitions, drop off and pick up
  2. Guidance Kit – easy classroom management and behavior guidance tools to use for any age group
  3. Engineering Kit – age-appropriate books and literacy-based ramps and rollers curriculum

With all these tools, substitutes feel more like a special “guest teacher” and children are excited to learn about engineering while their favorite teacher is away.
